The goal of the storyboard designs for Pittsburgh Pirates television programming was to ignite passion for the team while celebrating the unique spirit of Pittsburgh. The creative direction focused on evoking a sense of connection, energy, and summertime excitement while subtly referencing the city’s iconic "Golden Triangle"

Concept One

The first set of storyboards emphasized a fast-paced, high-energy approach. This concept featured dynamic 3D elements designed to create a seamless and visually engaging experience. The 3D components allowed for flexible transitions between game footage, show packages, and promotional content. This approach ensured a dynamic and visually captivating viewing experience that maintained flexibility across various programming elements while keeping the energy level high.

Concept Two

The second set of storyboards focused on showcasing the players while highlighting the energy and spirit of Pittsburgh. The design integrated the team's history and its deep connection to the city’s identity. This direction created an emotional connection by blending the passion of the game with the cultural pride of Pittsburgh. It celebrated both the team’s players and the fans who support them.

Conclusion

Both storyboard concepts successfully captured the essence of Pittsburgh Pirates baseball while celebrating the energy, connection, and pride that define the city. The integration of Pittsburgh’s "Golden Triangle" as a subtle design element added depth without being overt.
